Nepal’s Bhakta Bahadur Pariyar shines at Old Trafford in United We Play Initiative
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 17: Apollo Tyres and Manchester United recently celebrated the fourth and biggest season of United We Play at Old Trafford, hosting six exceptional young footballers from India, Nepal, Thailand, and the UAE. Among them was Bhakta Bahadur Pariyar from Nepal.
Selected from over 15,000 participants across the Asia Pacific and the MENA region, the winners trained with Manchester United Soccer School coaches, met club legends like John O’Shea and enjoyed a matchday experience. The grassroots initiative aims to nurture football talent in underrepresented regions, offering a platform to showcase their skills globally.
Nick Cox, Manchester United’s Head of Academy, praised the program as a "life-changing opportunity," while John O’Shea emphasized the importance of resilience in aspiring professionals. The season began in Kolkata with former player Louis Saha and concluded in Chandigarh with Gary Neville.
Apollo Tyres’ Remus D’Cruz lauded the winners’ determination and high performance, adding that the exposure would benefit them both in football and life. The program reached multiple cities, engaged over 100 coaches, and provided virtual training sessions to expand its impact.
