10-year action plan for tourism development on the cards

MALEKHU, JANUARY 19: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has stated that the government is formulating a 10-year action plan to boost tourism development and drive the country toward economic prosperity.

Speaking at a program in Dhading district yesterday, Minister Pandey revealed that the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation is preparing the action plan in coordination with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Finance Ministry, the Law Ministry, and other key stakeholders.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Minister Pandey emphasized the Ministry’s readiness to partner with the private sector for the advancement of tourism. He noted that the private sector plays a vital role in the sector’s development.

"We are working to revitalize our cultural and civil aviation sectors, leveraging opportunities to attract millions of tourists," he explained.

Minister Pandey, who also serves as the Nepali Congress Assistant Secretary General, added that the current coalition between the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) was established to promote good governance, eliminate corruption, and ensure governmental stability.
