Recent legal reforms can help boost IT sector, NASIT says

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 22 :The Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NASIT) has expressed gratitude towards the recent legal amendments and facilitation introduced by the government of Nepal through an ordinance.

In a press release ltely, NASIT thanked the government and expressed confidence that the timely implementation of the ordinance, along with the issuance of necessary procedures and guidelines by the concerned authorities, would further streamline the process.

NASIT also believes that this initiative will send a positive message to both domestic and foreign investors working in the information technology sector and contribute significantly to the overall development of the IT industry.

Through this year's budget, the government has set a target of exporting IT products and services worth Rs. 3 trillion within the next 10 years. Additionally, it aims to create 500,000 direct jobs and 1 million indirect jobs in the information technology sector. NASIT believes that the ordinance will play a positive role and serve as a milestone in achieving these objectives.

NASIT also expressed confidence that the government's comprehensive plan, which includes developing technological infrastructure, providing policy support, and undertaking various initiatives to strengthen the IT sector, reflects a long-term vision for building an innovative and sustainable IT system.

Furthermore, NASIT expects that the recent legal amendments introduced by the government to improve the economic and business environment and promote investment will be properly implemented across all sectors.
