More than 290 million collected in revenue in six months

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 30: The Transport Management Office, Hetauda, has collected over Rs 290 million in revenue during the first six months of the current fiscal year 2024/25.
According to Office Chief Prabin Shrestha, the revenue was generated from new vehicle registrations, license renewals, and the issuance of driving licenses. Of the total amount, Rs 173.8 million came from driving license distribution, Rs 45.36 million from vehicle taxes, and Rs 45.6 million from transport sector income.
During this period, the office registered 1,280 motorcycles, 513 small vehicles, 337 three-wheelers and e-rickshaws, 321 medium and large vehicles, and five tractors.
Additionally, the office issued 3,611 driving licenses, including 2,163 new ones, and renewed 2,984 licenses.
For comparison, the office had collected Rs 560.7 million in total revenue under various categories in the last fiscal year 2023/24.
