IME Group launches Ila Comfort Luxury Hotel in Baglung

It boasts an investment of Rs 300 million and spans across 2,000 sq. meters of land

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 2: IME Group has launched Ila Comfort Luxury Hotel in Baglung. The hotel aims to provide high-quality services to tourists and visitors travelling through the Kali Gandaki Corridor and the Mid-Hill Highway while exploring the Gandaki region and various tourist destinations in Baglung.

The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, officially inaugurated the hotel in a grand ceremony held in Baglung yesterday. Addressing the event, Minister Pandey highlighted the positive impact of IME Group’s investment in Nepal’s tourism infrastructure and stated that the future of Nepal’s economic prosperity lies in tourism. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting tourism.

On this occasion, Gandaki Province Minister Krishna Pathak praised IME Group’s investment in tourism infrastructure across Nepal and encouraged further investments in the Gandaki Province. He remarked, "Chairman Dhakal has been investing in tourism infrastructure in all seven provinces. However, we have heard of some obstacles in certain areas. If that is the case, we welcome you to bring your investments to Gandaki Province. The people of Gandaki will fully support and facilitate the construction of additional tourism infrastructure."

Commitment to Nepal’s Tourism and Employment

Speaking at the event, IME Group Chairman and President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, expressed his belief that the newly launched Ila Comfort Hotel will contribute significantly to the development of tourism in Baglung. He emphasized that, given the lack of investment and employment opportunities in Nepal, many Nepalese are forced to seek opportunities abroad. To address this, he has focused on investing in tourism infrastructure, including hotels and cable cars, across all seven provinces.

He further stated, "Investments in tourism and hydropower create multi-dimensional economic benefits, improving the economy and the overall standard of living of Nepalese citizens. That is why we have concentrated our investments in these sectors."

Boosting Tourism in the Kali Gandaki Region

The newly inaugurated hotel will offer high-quality accommodation and services to tourists and guests. Additionally, it is expected to increase the number of tourists from India and China, who travel through the Kali Gandaki Corridor via the Sunauli border in India and Korala Pass on the China-Nepal border. This will further contribute to the economic, cultural, and tourism development of Baglung in particular, and the entire Kali Gandaki region as a whole.

Local Leaders Welcome Investment in Baglung

The event was also attended by Federal MPs Deepak Giri and Jeevan Pariyar, Mayor of Baglung Municipality Basant Shrestha, and Chairman of the Baglung Chamber of Commerce Naresh Kandel. They emphasized that the opening of Ila Comfort Hotel has significantly enhanced Baglung’s tourism infrastructure and encouraged further investments in the region.

A New Benchmark for Hospitality in Baglung

Built with an investment of approximately NPR 300 million (2.25 million USD), Ila Comfort aims to set a new standard for premium accommodation in Baglung. Spanning four ropanis (2,000 sq. meters) of land, the hotel features 30 elegantly designed rooms, including 27 guest rooms, two luxurious suites, and an exclusive penthouse. Each accommodation is designed to provide a unique and exceptional hospitality experience beyond traditional offerings.

Sachin Dhakal, CEO of Ila Hotels & Resorts, stated, ""Ila Hotels & Resorts is not just a new hospitality brand; it is a commitment to transforming the stay in Baglung into an unforgettable experience. At Ila Comfort Baglung, we don’t just provide rooms; we create lasting memories for our guests even after they depart."
