Rukum Paschim farmers sell 4 metric tons of honey

TRIVENI, RUKUM PASCHIM, FEBRUARY 4: Beekeepers in the district have sold four metric tons of honey in the past six months, generating Rs 4 million in revenue, according to Lal Bahadur Bhandari, Information Officer at the District Agriculture Office.
The honey is priced between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,200 per kilogram. The highest production comes from Banphikot Rural Municipality and Athbiskot Municipality, followed by Sanibheri and Triveni Rural Municipalities, as well as Musikot and Chaurajahari Municipalities.
Approximately 200 farmers are engaged in beekeeping in the district, with 150 of them practicing it commercially.
The honey produced here is sold both locally and in other markets, including Surkhet, Dang, and Kathmandu.
During the peak season, a beekeeper can earn up to Rs 300,000, Bhandari added.
