CAN InfoTech concludes

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11: The annual communications and information technology exhibition, CAN InfoTech 2025, concluded in Kathmandu, the federal capital of Nepal.
Organized by the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation, the event took place from February 6 to 10, marking its 30th edition.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, inaugurated the exhibition. The event attracted a diverse audience, including tech enthusiasts, startup founders, IT entrepreneurs, high-level government officials, students, and policymakers.
According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to accelerate the Digital Nepal campaign.
Distinguished visitors included former ministers Parbat Gurung and Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, along with Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Deputy Mayor, Sunita Dangol.
The event showcased a wide range of IT brands, featuring exhibits on telecommunications, internet services, fintech, e-commerce, cybersecurity, AI, and blockchain. Innovative technologies, startups, software, and applications from both Nepal and abroad captured visitors' attention.
CAN Federation Chair Sunaina Ghimire emphasized the organization's commitment to collaborating with the government to develop Nepal’s IT sector. She highlighted the federation's focus on key initiatives such as the Data Protection Act, ride-sharing policies, AI integration, data management, and foreign investment in technology.
The exhibition saw a record attendance of over 200,000 visitors and featured 155 display stalls. In addition to the exhibits, interactive sessions and panel discussions were held as part of the event.
CAN Federation General Secretary, Chandra Bilash Bhurtel, expressed confidence that the exhibition would significantly contribute to Nepal’s innovation and IT growth.
