FNCCI urges British investors to exploit growing opportunities in Nepal

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 18: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has urged British investors to explore investment opportunities in Nepal, highlighting the country’s growing investment-friendly environment.
Speaking at the "Unpacking Nepal: Market Opportunities for UK Business" session organized by the UK-Nepal Business Forum in Kathmandu today, Dhakal noted that, through FNCCI's initiatives, the government has introduced over 30 legal reforms to facilitate investment. He emphasized that these reforms are fostering a more business-friendly climate in Nepal.
Dhakal also highlighted the significance of the bilateral investment agreement, stating that it would strengthen trust between Nepal and the UK, provide better investment security, and facilitate trade relations.
Emphasizing Nepal's vast potential, he invited British investors to explore opportunities in sectors such as energy, renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and information technology.
“Many policy reforms initiated by FNCCI have helped create an investment-friendly environment in Nepal. We are ready to welcome ongoing economic reforms and strong international partners like the UK's investors. British expertise, technology, and investment will not only shape Nepal’s future but also offer long-term benefits to businesses,” Dhakal said.
He also mentioned that the FNCCI is facilitating local investors by establishing a company with a capital of Rs 10 billion and reaffirmed it's commitment to assisting foreign investors interested in Nepal.
