US suspends aid to Nepal under MCC

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 18: The United States has suspended aid for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Ministry of Finance issued a statement on Tuesday confirming the halt.
The statement reads, "The U.S. aid agency, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), notified the Nepal government via email on February 14, 2025, that activities funded by MCC under the compact signed on September 13, 2017, would be suspended in line with the U.S. President’s executive order issued on January 20, 2025, which imposes a 90-day suspension."
This follows the earlier suspension of all aid under USAID and now extends to aid under the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
