Govt. urges Taplejung locals to join dialogue on Cable Car issue"

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 24: The government has urged the locals of Taplejung, involved in the 'No Cable Car' movement, to come to the negotiation table.
Prem Prasad Bhattarai, the coordinator of the dialogue committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, appealed to the protesting parties to engage in talks and dialogue in order to peacefully resolve the social, religious, cultural, and local community issues raised by the protestors. He emphasized that the construction of the cable car will be temporarily halted through dialogue and that peaceful solutions to these issues will be sought through continued communication. The ongoing discussions between the protesting parties and the dialogue committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs have been happening since last February 4 and are well-known to the public.
Bhattarai stated, "The problems and disputes arising from the construction of the cable car in the Pathibhara area of Taplejung will be resolved peacefully through dialogue. We are coordinating with the relevant stakeholders and the construction authorities to engage in discussions with the protesting parties. We sincerely appeal to the protestors to come forward for talks, so we can find a peaceful resolution to these issues."
