International Conference on Digital Age Crimes on Feb. 27-28
Apart from 90 Nepali officials, representatives from 13 different foreign countries will take part

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 28: The Office of the Attorney General is set to host the International Conference on Crimes of the Digital Age: Anticipation and Response on February 27-28. Announcing the event at a press conference on Tuesday, Attorney General Ramesh Badal stated that the conference will bring together experts to discuss the rising challenges of AI, digital economic crime, and cyber-enabled offences.
The event will focus on strategies for investigating, prosecuting, and preventing technology-driven crimes. Key topics include technology-facilitated sexual violence and abuse (TFSVA), cybersecurity crimes, cryptocurrency-related offenses, and AI-enabled crimes.
Over 90 government attorneys, legal experts, judges, and representatives from 13 countries, including Nepal, the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the Maldives, South Korea, Azerbaijan, India, China, Sri Lanka, Norway, and Russia, will participate. Nepali attendees will include representatives from the Supreme Court, Nepal Rastra Bank, various ministries, and other government bodies.
The conference will feature 16 working papers presented across multiple sessions. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the event.
