Nepali sans official documents deported from the US

KATHMANDU, MARCH 5: The United States of America (USA) has deported several Nepali nationals without official documents to Nepal. They arrived this morning on a chartered flight.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, the chartered aircraft, carrying 14 people, including crew members, landed at TIA at 10:15 AM.

The flight originated from Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire, USA, and made a technical stop en route before arriving directly in Kathmandu.

The aircraft is scheduled to return to the US via Albania at 3:00 PM tomorrow.

Following US President Donald Trump's second-term inauguration, the US has continued deporting Nepali nationals found without official documentation.

Meanwhile, the eight deportees have been handed over to the Nepal Police for further investigation. According to the TIA-based Office of Immigration, they were transferred to the police after completing immigration procedures.

Immigration Officer Yagya Raj Aryal also confirmed that an additional Nepali national was deported from the US today on a regular Qatar Airways flight.

Prior to this, the US had deported 27 Nepali nationals.
