Private sector's contribution to employment creation significant: PM

KATHMANDU, MARCH 10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the significant contribution of the private sector in creating employment opportunities in the country.

In his inaugural address at the National Labour and Employment Conference 2081 today, PM Oli stated that the role of the private sector would be even more crucial as the government continues efforts to bring about change in the country by fostering entrepreneurship and realizing the national aspiration of a "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali."

He highlighted the need to focus on increasing production and productivity by fully utilizing science and technology, stressing that the country's economy would not grow if employment opportunities are not created.

PM Oli also underscored the importance of developing skilled human resources capable of competing in the global market and maximizing employment within the country.

During the event, the National Skill Development Corporation and Employer Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Additionally, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, in collaboration with the Swiss Agency, signed an MoU to expand the integrated market information system under the Prime Minister Employment Programme.
