FNCCI President Dhakal calls for industrial growth and job creation

KATHMANDU, MARCH 10: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), emphasized the need to create a favorable industrial environment to boost domestic job opportunities. Speaking at the inauguration of the 5th National Labor and Employment Conference in Kathmandu yesterday, he stressed that political and policy stability is essential to attract investment and generate employment.
Dhakal highlighted the gap between labor demand and supply, noting that while Nepalese workers struggle to find jobs at home, employers face shortages of skilled manpower. He called for better utilization of skills, knowledge, and capital from foreign employment and urged policies that promote an investment-friendly environment over bureaucratic hurdles.
He underscored the private sector’s role in employment generation, noting that it accounts for over 86% of Nepal’s jobs. He also stressed the need for stronger government-private sector collaboration to support the "Decade of Domestic Employment Promotion" initiative. FNCCI, he said, is committed to fostering employer-worker relations for industrial stability.
