MeroAuto Automotive Conclave 2025 to kick off tomorrow in Pulchowk

KATHMANDU, MARCH 11:Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari will inaugurate MeroAuto Automotive Conclave 2025 scheduled to take place tomorrow at Square Hotel in Pulchowk of Lalitpur.
It aims to foster in-depth discussions on the challenges facing Nepal’s automobile sector, explore viable solutions, and assess the prospects and obstacles of domestic vehicle production.
The conclave will feature three sessions. The first session, titled "Private Vehicles: A Necessity Today," will run from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Moderated by MeroAuto’s editor, Sagar Gajurel, the discussion will include Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Anjan Shrestha, Managing Director of Simex Inc. Yamuna Shrestha, international trade expert Ravi Shankar Sainju, and Kathmandu University professor Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa.
The second session, "Public Transport: Challenges and Solutions," will begin at 1 PM. Panelists include Bagmati Province’s Minister for Labour, Employment, and Transport Prame Bhakta Maharjan, President of the Central Federation of Public Transport Dolnath Khanal, former NADA President Dhruva Thapa, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Krishna Raj Pant, and CG Motors CEO Hemant Agrawal. Ashish Gajurel will moderate the discussion.
The final session, "The Future of Vehicle Manufacturing," will commence at 3:30 PM. Speakers will include UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai, Nepali Congress lawmaker Uday Shumsher Rana, Unified Socialist leader Ram Kumari Jhakri, and Golchha Group Managing Director Shekhar Golchha. Rupesh Shrestha will serve as the moderator.
MeroAuto Automotive Conclave will be streamed live on MeroAuto’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. The event’s primary partner is Citizens Bank International.
