Starlink partners with Airtel to bring high-speed internet to India

KATHMANDU, MARCH 12 : Elon Musk’s Starlink has officially entered the Indian market following an agreement between SpaceX and Airtel to introduce high-speed internet services in the country. Airtel announced the partnership yesterday.
As part of the agreement, Airtel will collaborate with SpaceX to offer Starlink’s high-speed internet services to its customers in India.
In a statement, Airtel said, “This is the first agreement of its kind in India and Starlink services will commence after SpaceX secures the necessary regulatory approvals. Under this partnership, Airtel and SpaceX will jointly explore how Starlink can enhance Airtel’s existing services. Additionally, Airtel’s extensive experience in the Indian market will help SpaceX expand its offerings for both individual and business customers.”
The agreement also includes plans to expand connectivity to schools, healthcare centers, and remote areas. This announcement follows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent meeting with Elon Musk in Washington.
