NAWALPUR (NAWALPARASI), MARCH 21: The construction of the Narayanghat-Butwal four-lane road has recently gained momentum. Blacktopping has been completed on 47 kilometres of the 65-kilometre-long eastern section from Gaindakot to Daunne. According to the Narayanghat-Butwal Road Project (Eastern Section) Office, the project has achieved 58.7 per cent physical progress so far.
Currently, blacktopping is being carried out intensively in Devchuli Municipality after completing 16 kilometers in the Gaindakot area. The Office stated that 22 small bridges have been built along the Devchuli section; however, they are not yet operational due to incomplete link roads, said Shiva Khanal, the project's Information Officer.
Rakesh Jha, Contract Manager of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited, reported that one-side blacktopping with a sub-base, along with the construction of large bridges, retaining walls, and riverbank reinforcements, is progressing with over 650 workers on-site.
He added that the goal is to complete one-side blacktopping on a 42-kilometre section of the road.
