Security beefed up in Valley in view of mass rallies

KATHMANDU, MARCH 28: Nepal Police have intensified security measures in the Kathmandu Valley in response to two separate mass rallies scheduled for today. Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya, spokesperson for Nepal Police Headquarters, informed RSS that security has been strengthened at key locations where rallies and protest assemblies are set to take place.

A significant number of security personnel have been deployed along major thoroughfares, while additional forces remain on standby to prevent any untoward incidents.

Socialist Front Nepal is holding a warning assembly at the Exhibition Road in support of republicanism, while a pro-monarchy group is organizing a rally and mass gathering at Tinkune.

Supporters of both the republicanism and the monarchy have started assembling at designated locations, marching from different parts of the Valley.
