Business groups condemn violence, demand compensation to loss

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Federation of Nepali Industry and Entrepreneurship have condemned yesterday's violent incidents at Tinkune and demanded proper compensation for the damages incurred.
In separate press statements, both business organizations called for stringent action against those responsible for the violence. While recognizing the right to peaceful demonstrations, they emphasized that such activities must not infringe upon the rights of citizens and industrialists to conduct business.
The organizations expressed serious concern over attacks on private and public property, looting, and arson.
“The acts of looting, arson, attacks on private property, and loss of human life are deeply condemnable,” FNCCI stated.
Similarly, the Federation urged all stakeholders to ensure a free and fair business environment. It denounced the criminal activities that occurred in the Tinkune and Koteshwor areas on Friday.
Businesses must not be targeted, nor should industrialists face attacks, they stated, warning that such actions harm the national economy.
Both organizations urged the government to take strict action against those involved in the violence. Additionally, the Federation called on industrialists and entrepreneurs to unite in protecting and strengthening the republic.
