Sichuan-Nepal Trade Exchange Month begins

KATHMANDU, MARCH 30: The Sichuan Series of Celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of China-Nepal diplomatic relations, along with the Sichuan-Nepal Culture, Tourism, Economy, and Trade Exchange Month, commenced with an inaugural event in Chengdu, China.
Held on Friday, the event was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial Government and the Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu.
Speaking at the event, Zhang Tao, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, highlighted recent progress in connectivity between Nepal and Sichuan, emphasizing the growing momentum of socio-cultural exchanges over the past year.
Ambassador of Nepal to China, Krishna Prasad Oli, reflected on the deep historical ties between the two nations and, more importantly, the enduring people-to-people bonds.
Nepal Tourism Board’s Chief Executive Officer, Deepak Raj Joshi, reaffirmed Nepal’s readiness to welcome Chinese tourists, promising them an unforgettable experience across the country.
The Consul General expressed the Consulate’s commitment to facilitating and promoting trade, tourism, and cultural exchange initiatives between Sichuan and Nepal.
The event featured performances by Chinese artists and Nepal’s Himali Cultural Group, which traveled to Chengdu for the occasion. Nepali exhibitors showcased various local products, with plans for additional exhibitions and cultural exchange events across Sichuan Province throughout the month-long celebration.
According to the Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu, the Sichuan series aims to strengthen cultural, trade, economic, and people-to-people exchanges, fostering deeper cooperation between Nepal and Sichuan.
