Gold price soars to record high, jumps by Rs 6,900 per tola

KATHMANDU, APRIL 22: The surge in global gold prices has had a direct impact on the domestic market in Nepal, driving rates to unprecedented heights.
The price of the yellow metal has been on a steady upward trajectory over the past several days, with a dramatic spike recorded today. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold has risen by Rs 6,900 per tola (11.66 grams), reaching an all-time high of Rs 197,900 per tola—up from Rs 191,000 on Monday.
Silver has also seen a modest increase, climbing by Rs 10 per tola. The Federation has set the current price of silver at Rs 1,970 per tola.
Meanwhile, in the international market, gold is trading at 3,479 US dollars per ounce.
