Ncell recognised as highest income taxpayer in ICT sector
Last fiscal year alone, it paid Rs 20.30 billion in taxes

KATHMANDU, APRIL 4: The government has honoured Ncell Axiata Limited as the highest income taxpayer in the country’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector. The recognition was presented during a special ceremony held in Kathmandu last Friday to mark the 8th National ICT Day 2025.
National ICT Day is observed every year on May 2 to promote the development and advancement of information and communications technology in Nepal. On the occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli presented a certificate of honour to Punam Singh, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability at Ncell, acknowledging the company’s contribution as the highest taxpayer in the ICT sector for the fiscal year 2023/24.
Ncell was recognised for paying the highest amount of tax in the ICT sector, reinforcing its continued role in the growth and prosperity of Nepal’s digital ecosystem. The company has consistently ranked among the nation’s leading contributors in terms of tax compliance.
Jabbor Kayumov, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ncell, said the company was grateful for the government’s recognition. He noted that Ncell has been making substantial contributions to the government through various tax and fee categories each year. He added that Ncell remains committed to playing a key role in ICT development and supporting the government’s Digital Nepal vision, in line with its theme “Here for You, here for Nepal.”
This is one of several accolades Ncell has received over the years for its contributions. In December last year, Lalitpur Metropolitan City also recognised the company as the highest institutional taxpayer for the fiscal year 2023/24.
Since its establishment, Ncell has paid over NPR 340 billion in taxes and fees. In the last fiscal year alone, its contribution totalled NPR 20.30 billion. Additionally, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing, Ncell Foundation, the company has invested over NPR 2 billion in social impact projects. These initiatives have reached communities across all seven provinces and directly or indirectly benefited more than 13 million people nationwide.
