Deliberations on govt.'s annual policies and programmes to begin today

KATHMANDU, MAY 5: The House of Representatives (HoR) has commenced discussions on the government's annual policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26 BS, starting today.
As part of the proceedings, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to table a proposal for deliberation on the policy and programme that President Ramchandra Paudel presented during his address to the joint session of both houses of the federal parliament last Friday.
General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, Padma Prasad Pandey, stated that the amendments submitted by lawmakers concerning the proposed policy and programme will also be presented and discussed during the parliamentary session.
According to the parliamentary schedule, the HoR meeting will begin at 11:00 am today. Meanwhile, discussions on the policy and programme have already started in the National Assembly on Sunday. The National Assembly will continue its deliberations in today's meeting, which is scheduled for 1:15 pm.
