Tokma App and GCard launched

KATHMANDU, MAY 12: Tokma Technologies has officially launched the Tokma app and GCard. The launch event took place at Yak & Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu, where former Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, unveiled the products.

The company introduced the Tokma app as an all-in-one “super app” along with GCard, a digital card based on NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Speaking at the event, Ghising expressed confidence that the Tokma app and GCard would make a significant contribution to Nepal’s digital economy.

“These products will play an important role in strengthening the digital economy,” said Ghising. “They will also create a number of employment opportunities. Such technologies bring efficiency to everyday tasks. So I encourage you all to use them.”

Sanchaman Rai, Co-founder of Tokma Technologies, stated that the products were developed after three years of research and that they would continue to evolve based on user feedback.

Similarly, Tokma Technologies CEO Sagar Angedambe emphasized that the Tokma app and GCard are not just technological tools but agents of national transformation.

Kuber Nepali, CEO of the Urban Transport Authority, noted that ride-sharing has become essential and more accessible in public transportation.

Also speaking at the event, the Vice President of CAN Federation said innovation is no longer optional but essential in today's world. “We are living in an era where innovation is not a choice, but a necessity,” he said. “Startups today are not just small businesses; they are carriers of hope, potential, leadership, and the vision of a digital Nepal.”

Tokma brand ambassador Wilson Bikram Rai also took the stage, encouraging everyone to embrace homegrown technologies.
