Maoist Centre Chair bats for political consensus on Budhigandaki project

GORKHA, MAY 27: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has underscored the need for political consensus to expedite the construction of the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, a national pride initiative.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new building of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality in Gorkha today, Dahal asserted that the project would move forward under any circumstances. He noted that the delay in construction has primarily been caused by confusion regarding the project's operational modality and resource management.
Recalling efforts made during his tenure as Prime Minister to advance the Budhigandaki project, Dahal said, “The delay has caused considerable hardship for the people. We are continuously working to push the project forward.”
