NEPSE gains 17.44 points amid volatile trading
Stock prices of 148 companies increase, 97 decline, and 2 remain unchanged.

KATHMANDU, MAY 28: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 17.44 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,693.06.
A total of 20.76 million shares of 323 companies were traded in 77,316 transactions, amounting to a turnover of NPR 8.58 billion.
The market opened with a slight uptick and experienced fluctuations throughout the trading session. However, it closed on a positive note, with the index ending higher. Of the total companies traded, 148 posted gains, 97 declined, and 2 remained unchanged.
Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals posted the highest gain of the day, with its share price surging by 10 percent. Other notable gainers included Pure Energy (up 9.99%), Green Development Bank (9.85%), Bhugol Energy Development (9.15%), and Arun Kabeli Power (5.89%).
Conversely, Barahi Hydropower Public suffered the steepest loss, with its share price falling by 5.26 percent. Crest Micro Life Insurance dropped 5.10 percent, Nepal Micro Insurance fell 4.08 percent, Dibyashwori Hydropower declined 3.91 percent, and Sunrise Focused Equity Fund slipped 2.97 percent.
