Global IME Bank launches real-time dollar card loading via app

KATHMANDU, MAY 29: Global IME Bank Limited has introduced a real-time loading feature for its E-com Dollar Card through the ‘Global Smart Plus’ mobile app. With this update, users can now instantly load US dollars onto their E-com Dollar Card directly from their smartphones—eliminating the need to visit a branch.

This Visa-branded card is valid for international transactions, making it ideal for online shopping, subscriptions, and digital services. With a maximum annual transaction limit of USD 500, the E-com Dollar Card is specifically designed to facilitate secure and seamless international payments.

Customers can apply for the card directly through the Global Smart Plus app. A virtual card enrollment costs Rs. 500, while the annual renewal fee is Rs. 300. The card can be loaded with USD via mobile banking at no additional cost.

The app itself offers a wide range of services including account management, fund transfers, bill payments, QR-based payments, and wallet top-ups. With the addition of the E-com Dollar Card top-up feature, the app becomes even more versatile, providing users with greater convenience and control.

Global IME Bank has been recognized as Nepal’s Best Bank in 2024 by both Global Finance and Euromoney. It is the first private commercial bank in Nepal to establish a branch in all 77 districts.
