Economic Survey projects 4.1 percent economic growth in current fiscal year

KATHMANDU, MAY 29: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, has presented the Economic Survey for the current fiscal year before the House of Representatives.
He tabled the survey during today’s Lower House session. The Survey projects that the economic growth rate for the current fiscal year will be 4.61 percent.
According to the Finance Minister, all provinces—except Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpaschim—are expected to achieve economic growth rates higher than the national average.
The size of the national economy is projected to reach Rs 6,107 billion in the current fiscal year. As the Minister informed the House, the service sector is estimated to contribute the largest share to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at 62.01 percent, followed by agriculture at 25.16 percent and industry at 12.83 percent.
As per the data up to the end of Fagun (mid-March 2025), the per capita gross national income rose to USD 1,517, while the average consumer inflation rate stood at 4.72 percent, according to the Economic Survey.
