General public to get NT's 30 percent stake

KATHMANDU, MAY 29: The government has announced plans to offer 30 percent of Nepal Telecom’s shares to the general public. At the same time, the company’s shareholding structure will be restructured to ensure the government retains a majority stake.
While presenting the national budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel said that they will advance policies aimed at restructuring public enterprises, converting them into companies, and bringing in strategic partners to improve management and efficiency.
