Govt. unveils NPR 1,964 billion budget for upcoming fiscal

KATHMANDU, MAY 29: The government has announced a budget of NPR 1,964 billion for the fiscal year 2025/26. Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel presented the budget during the joint session of the Federal Parliament held today.
Out of the total budget, NPR 1,180.98 billion (60.1 percent) is allocated for recurrent expenditures, NPR 407.89 billion (20.8 percent) for capital expenditures, and NPR 375.24 billion (19.1 percent) for financial expenditures.
The new budget will come into effect from July 17.
