Gandaki suspends 'ride sharing' regulations for a month
KASKI, JUNE 4: The Gandaki Provincial Government has decided to suspend the implementation of the Ride Sharing (Regulation and Management) Regulations, 2025, for one month.
Following deliberations by the negotiation committee, which includes Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey, a decision was made yesterday to postpone enforcement of the regulations for a month, informed Kamal Kumar Adhikari, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management and Coordinator of the committee.
As per the decision, transport entrepreneurs will be invited for further negotiations during this period. The implementation of the ride-sharing regulations will remain suspended throughout the negotiation window.
Secretary Adhikari also confirmed that the Ministry had received a letter today from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, urging the creation of a conducive environment for ending the public transport strike and restoring normalcy.
It is worth noting that an agreement was reached last Monday night between the federal government and transport entrepreneurs, which included the withdrawal of the ride-sharing regulations enforced by the Gandaki Provincial Government.
