Nepal imports goods worth Rs 4.75 billion from Bandladesh; exports valued at Rs 356 million

KATHMANDU, JUNE 4: In the first ten months of the current fiscal year, goods worth approximately NPR 4.75 billion (NPR 4,750,806,871) had been imported into Nepal from Bangladesh via the Kakarbhitta border point. During the same period, Nepal exported goods worth about NPR 356.3 million (NPR 356,297,827) to Bangladesh.
According to Subash Pandey, Chief of the Kakarbhitta Branch Office of the Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited, the largest import from Bangladesh was raw jute, valued at around NPR 1.78 billion (NPR 1,784.2 million).
Other major imports included batteries, poultry feed supplements, cosmetic items, hydrogen peroxide, jute yarn, electrical equipment, medicines, potatoes, paper, glass, and various food and beverage products.
On the export side, Nepal exported crude herbs (khudo) worth around NPR 302.8 million (NPR 302,779,000) to Bangladesh via Kakarbhitta. In addition, Nepal also exported medicinal herbs, animal feed, and household goods, according to Chief Pandey.
