Three people test COVID-19 positive in Sudur Pashchim Province

BAITADI, JUNE 5: Three individuals who recently returned from India have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sudurpaschim Province.
According to Hemraj Joshi, the epidemic focal person at the Provincial Directorate of Health Services, the infected include two men and one woman: a 20-year-old man from Kanchanpur, a 32-year-old man from Dhakari in Achham, and a 24-year-old woman from Dhangadhi in Kailali.
“COVID-19 has been confirmed in three out of 36 suspected individuals who entered Nepal via the Gauriphanta border point,” Joshi said. “All those who tested positive have been instructed to remain in home isolation.”
He further informed that swab samples of those who tested positive have been sent to the Central Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu for PCR confirmation.
