Fudan University Alumni Nepal formed

KATHMANDU, JULY 8: The Fudan University Alumni, Nepal, has been formally established under the leadership of Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma. The executive body comprises distinguished members, including Dr. Kailash Bhandari, Dr. Saroj Dhital, Prof. Dr. Dilip Sharma, Dr. Sujan Manandhar, and several other prominent figures from across the country.
At the inaugural event held yesterday, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Chen Song, commended the alumni for their continued efforts in strengthening Nepal–China relations. “Studying in China is not only an opportunity to gain professional expertise, but also a chance to understand diverse cultural values,” he noted. “As fellow Asian and developing countries, Nepal can benefit from China’s experiences in reform and development.”
Highlighting Nepal’s significant role in the Belt and Road Initiative and the vision of a shared future for mankind, Ambassador Chen encouraged alumni members and others to visit China and witness the country’s rapid transformation in recent years.
Chairman of the Alumni Association, Dr. Sharma, emphasized that the platform aims to promote learning and knowledge-sharing among Nepalis. “China’s remarkable progress in areas such as the economy, science, and technology offers valuable lessons for our own development,” he said.
The association consists of individuals who studied at Fudan University from the 1990s to the present. Located in Shanghai and established in 1905, Fudan University is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading academic institutions.
