Laxmi Premium Motors unveils BMW iX2 in Nepal
Equipped with a fifth-generation BMW eDrive system, this electric SAV offers a range of 430 to 475 km

KATHMANDU, JULY 9: Laxmi Premium Motors, the sole authorized importer and dealer of BMW vehicles in Nepal, has officially launched the all-new BMW iX2, a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), into the Nepali market.
The company stated that the arrival of the iX2 marks a major milestone in BMW’s commitment to promoting electric mobility and sustainable transportation in Nepal. Combining futuristic design with advanced smart systems, the iX2 aims to attract customers who prioritize cutting-edge technology, eco-consciousness, and premium automotive performance.
Performance and Range
The BMW iX2 eDrive20, part of BMW’s expanding electric portfolio, is equipped with a fifth-generation BMW eDrive system. It produces up to 150 kW (204 hp) with a temporary boost and delivers a torque of 250 Nm. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 170 km/h.
According to preliminary WLTP estimates, the iX2 offers an electric driving range of 430 to 475 kilometers. With energy consumption between 15.4 and 17.2 kWh per 100 km, the model stands out as an efficient choice in the premium compact SAV segment. Its high-voltage 66.5 kWh battery, positioned within the vehicle floor, ensures optimal weight distribution and extended driving range.
Charging and Efficiency
The iX2 supports multiple charging solutions. Its Combined Charging Unit enables AC charging up to 11 kW and DC fast charging up to 130 kW. Advanced features such as smart thermal pre-conditioning and intelligent charging software help enhance battery longevity and maintain optimal charging speeds.
Interior and Features
On the inside, the iX2 offers luxury and comfort with Mocha-colored Vernasca leather seats, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
The model also incorporates BMW’s latest safety and assistance systems, including Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Auto Hold, an electromechanical parking brake, and multiple airbags for driver and passenger safety. Additionally, features like the Drive-Off Assistant and Attentiveness Assistant ensure a smooth and secure drive, whether navigating city traffic or long-distance journeys.
Expanding BMW’s EV Presence in Nepal
From its state-of-the-art showroom in Tinkune, Kathmandu, Laxmi Premium Motors currently offers several BMW models, including the X1, X2, X3, X4, X7, iX1 (battery electric), iX3 (battery electric), 5 Series (plug-in hybrid), X5 (plug-in hybrid), and 7 Series.
With the introduction of the iX2, Laxmi Premium Motors believes BMW has not only strengthened its presence in Nepal’s premium EV segment but also set a new benchmark in terms of design, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
