Hyundai Motor Assembly Plant inaugurated in Parasi
Laxmi Motor Corporation (LMC), a subsidiary of Laxmi Group, has today commenced Hyundai Motor Assembly Plant in the Parasi district. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the plant during a ceremony held today in Ramnagar of the district. Apart from the PM, the ceremony was participated in by Chief Minister of Lumbini Pradesh Jokh Bahadur Mahara, South Korean ambassador to Nepal, Ambassador Park Tae Young, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from Hyundai Motor India Ltd., Unsoo Kim, and other distinguished guests from local authorities.
Spanning an expanse of 65,000 sq m with a built-up area of 14,000 sq m, the newly established Plant has an annual capacity of 5,000 units per shift. The LMC established the factory with the technical supervision of HMC, ensuring every vehicle produced meets its highest standard protocols in terms of performance, safety, and reliability.
Speaking during the ceremony, the premier said that Hyundai Nepal has contributed to Nepal’s progress in the automotive industry by taking such an initiative.
Similarly, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., Unsoo Kim, expressed confidence that the establishment of this new industry will attract more domestic and foreign investors to Nepal’s industrial sector.
Before its formal inauguration, the plant started production on Hyundai Venue. The first SUV of this model manufactured in it was also rolled out during the ceremony. The plant will be assembling various other models of Hyundai vehicles in days to come.
At the moment, Laxmi Intercontinental has a distinctive market reach with 16 showrooms of Hyundai cars, 19 service centers, and 45+ charging points across Nepal.
