Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu Celebrates 84th National Day
Kathmandu, April 14. The Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu marked the 84th National Day of Pakistan with a distinguished reception held at Hotel Radisson Blu. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Rt. Honorable Vice President of Nepal Dr. Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Alongside him were notable figures such as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Former Prime Minister MK Nepal, Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives Indira Ranamagar, Foreign Affairs Secretary Sewa Lamsal, and former chiefs of Nepal Army.
The gathering comprised a diverse array of senior Nepalese political, civic, and business leaders, as well as civil and military officials, Ambassadors, diplomats, members of the Pakistani community, journalists, and representatives from civil society.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal H.E. Abrar H Hashmi highlighted the historical significance of the Pakistan Resolution adopted on March 23, 1940, and paid tribute to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and its desire for friendship and peaceful coexistence.
Ambassador Hashmi also underscored the enduring bond between Pakistan and Nepal, rooted in shared geography, civilizational linkages, and cultural similarities. He expressed optimism about further enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as education, health, defense, and addressing challenges posed by climate change, facilitated by advancements in technology.
The reception featured the melodious tunes of national anthems performed by the Nepal Army band, along with captivating Pakistani songs, delighting the audience and adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
