‘Govt preparing to increase EV usage ‘

KATHMANDU, APRIL 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth, has shared that preparations are being made on the part of the government to increase the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. Marking the beginning of a charging station for EVs introduced by Sajha Yatayat in Lalitpur yesterday, Mahaseth stressed the need for using EVs for the substitution of petroleum products.
On the occasion, Minister Mahaseth expressed his displeasure with the dillydallying in infrastructure building and operation of EVs. During the programme, Minister for Land Management and Cooperative, Balaram Adhikari, pledged to ensure needed assistance for Sajha Yatayat for the operation of EVs. The mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan,
announced joining hands with Sajha Yatayat and increasing investment in EVs. Likewise, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kulman Ghising and Chairman of Sajha Yatayat Kanakmani Dixit also shared their views on the occasion. —
