Total number of 5-star hotels reach 22 with four more coming into operation
KATHMANDU, MARCH 27: With the addition of four more five-star hotels, the number of such hotels in the country has reached 22. In this Nepali year, Siddhartha International, Hotel Lhasa International, Akama Hotel and Varnavas Museum Boutique Hotel were added as new five-star hotels, according to the Department of Tourism. Siddharth is located in Bhairawaha while all the rest three are in Kathmandu.
With Varnavas, in particular, coming into operation this year, the number of boutique hotels (with 5-star-rated services) in the country has reached 3. Dwarika’a and Basera are other such hotels established earlier.
Hilton, Budhanilkanth Heritage and Hotel Forest Inn are other new hotels which are in the process of receiving a five-star rating from the department.
The Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) informs that in the next two years, there will be a further addition of 18 -20 five-star hotels in the country. The hotels (of various categories) affiliated with the Association total 5,000 which can accommodate/serve 3.5 million guests annually.
