Govt, private sector hold discussions vis-a-vis Investment Summit
KATHMANDU, MARCH 19: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has held discussions with the private sector representatives regarding the upcoming Nepal Investment Summit. In a meeting with the representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Minister Bhandari talked about making laws to create a comfortable environment for investors.
The investment summit is slated on the 28th and 29th of April, 2024 (15th and 16th of Baisakh). The government is receiving suggestions from the private sector for drafting investment-friendly laws targeting to attract foreign investment in the country, and for making the summit effective. In the meeting, confederation director general Gokarna Awasthi urged the government to table the drafted 10 acts and two regulations in their original form without amendments.
Similarly, Minister Bhandari committed positively to facilitating from the ministry side regarding drafting new investment-friendly laws considering the feedback of the private sector. Present in the meeting were, FNCCI former chair Chandiraj Dhakal, senior vice chair Anjan Shrestha, vice chair Hemraj Dhakal, confederation chair Rajesh Agrawal, and vice-chair Birendra Pandey, among others.
Feedback
