Nepalese Engineering Student receives International Research Grant
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 8: Bishwash Paneru, a fourth-year undergraduate student of Chemical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus has been selected for the United Engineering Foundation (UEF) funded grant program for climate solutions projects.
He was awarded a grant worth $11,875 for his research project titled ‘Techno-economic analysis of cryogenic CO2 capture process in the context of Nepal and its applications’ along with his team members Biplov Paneru from Nepal Engineering College and Anup Paudel, a recent graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus.
The UEF is a common consortium of five major engineering societies: AIChE, IEEE, AIME, ASCE, and ASME and his project was the only selected project from Asia and was among the 8 selected projects from the whole world for the grant program. The Sustainable Energy Corps of AIChE will soon publish his project report in their international database and will be recognized by professionals from industries and the American government. He was also awarded two important courses of AIChE worth around $1000 under this grant program.
