NCC urges Japanese industrialists to invest in Nepal
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 29: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has asked Japanese industrialists and businessmen to invest in Nepal. During discussions with representatives of the International Cooperation Organisation for Small and Medium Enterprises in Asia (ICOSEA) yesterday in the capital, NCC President Rajendra Malla highlighted the potential for Japanese investment and partnerships in various sectors in Nepal.
Malla specifically urged Japanese entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in hydropower development, tourism, industrial, and electric sectors in Nepal. Recognizing the historically strong economic and diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan, he emphasized that Nepal is an attractive destination for investment.
ICOSEA President Kurose Nabuhiro expressed interest in potential sectors for investment in Nepal and acknowledged the challenges faced by small and medium enterprises, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nabuhiro committed to exploring joint investment opportunities in sectors such as hydroelectricity, tourism, and others in partnership with NCC.
