Reliance Retail is going to launch its e-commerce beauty platform
Agency, march 7. Reliance Retail is going to launch its e-commerce beauty platform Tira. Along with this, he will also open his offline store. The first offline Tira store will open in Mumbai in April. After this, it will be expanded across the country in both ‘shop-in-shop’ and standalone. In a program organized by Industry Chamber FICCI, Reliance Retail Director Subramaniam V informed this.
Tira will offer products from makeup, skin care, hair care, bathing, fragrances, men’s beauty and luxury sections. Currently this platform is open to all Reliance employees, but soon it will be open to the general public as well. Tira Store will offer several technical interventions such as virtual try-on and customized recommendations. The luxury product will be retailed under a special category called Tira Red.
Subramaniam V said that Reliance Retail is one of the big players in the beauty segment. We are already present in personal care, hair care. We are Lakeme’s biggest customer. Now, we are bringing a special channel for beauty. Reliance Retail has invested in several fashion brands in the past few years, including Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar.
Reliance Retail bought a controlling stake in makeup and personal care brand Insight Cosmetics last year. Tira will compete directly with several multi-brand beauty retailers including Nayka, SS Beauty, and Tata Clic Palette.
A 2021 report by Statista states that India ranks fourth in revenue generation from the beauty and personal care market. Only America, China and Japan are ahead of India. It is estimated that online sales will increase by 18.2% in the next few years.
