Meteorological Forecasting Division to make weather forecast for in-route flights

Kathmandu, June 2. The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said it would facilitate the domestic aircrafts for the weather forecast of in-routes.
The Division said it would coordinate and facilitate for the in-route forecast for the domestic flights as per the decision of the regulatory body Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). The CAAN had taken a decision not to allow the aircrafts to make domestic flights until the favourable weather condition in the airports for takeoff and landing. Based on this decision, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology was urged to facilitate for the weather forecast.
Information Officer at the Department, Bibhuti Pokharel, said the Division was ready to facilitate to the extent of availability of means and human resources. “We will manage the weather forecast information based on our capacity and technology. We are also equally serious for the aviation safety,” Pokharel said.
