Kathmandu, May 04 . OYO Hotels and Homes, South Asia’s largest, China’s 2nd largest and world’s fastest growing chain of leased and franchised hotels, homes & living spaces has achieved a significant milestone and expanded its footprint from 3 to 10 cities in Nepal.
The company launched its operations with Kathmandu in May 2017 and is currently present across Pokhara, Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Hetauda, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. Over 200+ franchised hotels with 3,400+ exclusive rooms are a part of OYO’s chain in Nepal.
Backed by strong local talent and execution, the company has been consistently growing its footprint in the country while reiterating its strong commitment towards adding value to Nepal’s hospitality industry.
Commenting on the development, Aditya Ghosh, CEO – India & South Asia, OYO Hotels and Homes, said, ‘’We commenced our operations in Nepal and have learnt a lot from the country’s hospitality landscape and the huge opportunity it offers. We are focused on growing our presence to ensure high-quality, affordable experiences for tourists while driving high and consistent yields for asset owners.
We are overwhelmed by the response of our guests and asset owners that has played an important role in fueling our rapid expansion from 3 to 10 cities. Our solid execution is backed by a team of more than 90+ talented, local Nepalese men and women.
We have recently announced an investment of INR 1,400 crores for India and South Asia and with Nepal as a strategic market, we are working tirelessly to transform the country’s hospitality industry by adding value to every form of real estate and creating quality living spaces.’’
Post gaining a stronghold in its home markets India and China, Nepal has emerged as the next big opportunity for OYO Hotels and Homes. There is a huge disconnect between demand and supply of quality living spaces, forcing travellers and Nepalese to compromise on location, quality and price.
OYO uses technology and talent to fix this problem. On an average, properties that become a part of the OYO hotel chain witness up to 65% occupancy. Since its launch in Nepal, OYO has transformed over 200+ hotels to ensure standardization and consistency in the guest experience. The company’s approach towards transforming and renovating living spaces is powered by technology.
Aditya further added, ‘’We are persistent in bringing the best OYO experience to Nepal for global travellers and are committed to the country’s vision 2020. Our 200+ growing asset owner community in Nepal is our source of strength and inspiration and we are focused on deepening our engagement and supporting them with technology and talent at every step.
Our expansion to 10 cities in Nepal is a testament to the trust and confidence that our asset owners and guests have shown in us. We will continue to deepen and widen our presence in the country in the coming months.’’
OYO Hotels has built and demonstrated deep capabilities in partnering with various formats of real estate and rapidly transforming them. Since its foray, the company has expanded its footprint in the country by adding over 200 franchised and OYO branded hotels with comfortable furnished rooms, which include modern amenities including complimentary breakfast, spotless linen, free WiFi, television and 24/7 support. Over 3,400+ exclusive rooms are a part of its chain in the country.
