Beijing, April 28 . President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is currently on a State visit to China, planted a sapling in the premises of the Chinese Exhibition Centre here today. President Bhandari planted a sapling of Malus Spectabilis (a Chinese species of apple).
President Bhandari arrived here on April 24 at the invitation of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to participate in the second Belt and Road Initiative for International Cooperation that concluded yesterday. Leaders from altogether 38 countries had participated in the two-day event that aimed to advance the cause of the Belt and Road Initiative initiated by President Xi in 2013.
On the occasion, President Bhandari observed the 2019 International Horticultural Exhibition along with the world leaders from various countries including the host China.RSS
