SAARC Finance Ministers in Fiji

Kathmandu, May 3. The 13th informal meeting of the Finance Ministers from the SAARC member states was held in Nadi of Fiji on Thursday. It is stated that the meeting focused on eradicating the poverty from the SAARC region.

The Finance Ministers gathered there in course of attending 52nd annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) being held there. Minister for Finance Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada, as the chair of the session, opined for enhancing interconnectivity for the holistic development and welfare of SAARC nations.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Minister Dr Khatiwada stated that though south Asia was the centre of world economic growth, it was failing to achieve benefit due to lack of interconnectivity.

Speaking in the same programme, SAARC Secretary General Amjad Hussain B Sial shared that the regional organization was working out to make the prosperous south Asia.
