3,000 Security Personnel being deputed in KTM Valley in view of Holi

KATHMANDU, MARCH 24: The District Police Range, Kathmandu,  is strengthening security in the Kathmandu Valley to make the festival of Holi today safe and disciplined.    A total of 3,000 security personnel are being deputed to prevent any untoward incidents during the occasion.

A spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Navaraj Adhikari, told RSS that action would be taken against those involved in unlawful activities, driving vehicles under the influence of drugs and alcohol, making noise, consuming alcohol and causing trouble to people during the festival.

He shared, “We have urged one and all to celebrate Holi festival in a civilized and grand manner. Stern action will be taken against those involved in unlawful activities.”
Altogether 2,500 security personnel in uniform and 500 in plain clothes are being mobilized to maintain law and order during the Holi festival this year.

The Police would carry out checking from Sunday morning in the Kathmandu Valley to prevent untoward incidents, it is stated.    Similarly, those involving in activities like smearing colours and throwing water-filled balloons would also be brought within the ambit of legal action.
