FinMin asks US investors to pour their bucks into Nepal

WASHINGTON DC, APRIL 17:Finance Minister Barshaman Pun, who is currently on a visit to the US, has drawn US investors’ attention towards Nepal. While attending a roundtable discussion organized by the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington today, he did so. “I urge the members of the chamber to consider investing in various promising business sectors of Nepal.”

During the meeting, Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia at USAID, Anjali Kaur, Nepali Ambassador to the US, Shreedhar Khatry, Senior Vice Chair of US Chamber of Commerce for South Asia, Atul Kashyap,  put forth their views on the Investment Summit. The summit is slated to take place on April 29-30 in Kathmandu in a bid to bring in foreign investment.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Pun held a meeting with the vice-chairs of the World Bank and the Regional Vice-Chair of the International Finance Corporation today itself in Washington.  The meeting was focused on issues like the Bank’s proposed investment in the Upper Arun Hydropower project and other development projects.
