Grand finale of “ICT Awards 2023” tomorrow

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 21: The grand finale program of ‘ICT Awards 2023’,  a prestigious award in the field of information and communication technology, is being held at The Soaltee Kathmandu on Dec.20.

The program will see the distribution of awards to the winners of 14 categories related to the Information, Communication and Technology sector. Likewise, the best startups from all seven provinces are going to be honoured with the Provincial Startup ICT Recognition 2023. The award also includes the South Asia Startup ICT Award aimed at the South Asian countries.

More than 800 distinguished people from home and abroad are slated to participate in the grand finale of the ICT Award, which will be organized as a special celebration of the technology sector. An expert jury committee of 14 members from home and 3 from abroad was formed to select the  8th  edition of the ICT Award. The organizing committee informed that more than 700 applications have been received in online nominations opened in 13 different categories.

The award distribution categories are startup and innovation-driven startup, product, rising star innovation and Hamro Pay Public Choice ICT Award. Individual award categories include Professional Excellence, Entrepreneur, Nepali Diaspora, Pioneer, and Ncell Woman Icon ICT Award. Institutional and corporate award categories include Digital Education (Public Sector), Digital Education (Private Sector), Digital Governance and Digital Services ICT Award. Razan Lamsal: Chairman of the organizing committee said that the South Asia Startup ICT Award has been included as an international award category.

In all these categories, various stages of the selection process were conducted for 3 months with the participation of 17 jury members. According to the organizers, processes such as Startup meet, Boot camp, Startup and Idea Fest in Kathmandu, television program, public voting and field visits were conducted in all seven provinces. Lamsal said that all efforts have been made to make the award selection process transparent, fair and comprehensive.

The participants believe that the award program organized every year is encouraging those who want to work in this field. Startups, products and innovations that competed in this award have received opportunities for further investment and market expansion. Award winners will receive trophies and honors along with offers from various companies. The Ncell Woman Icon will also receive a prize of 3 lakh rupees.

The organizers have informed that the grand finale program to be held tomorrow will be attended by special guests and dignitaries from the Government of Nepal. International mobility company Indrive and dozens of startups and experts from South Asian countries will come to Nepal to participate in the program. The organizer has informed us that there will also be music performances by Pramod Kharel and others.

ICT Award 2023 is in association with Indrive, powered by Upgrade. It is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Department of Information Technology, Nepal Telecommunication Authority, National Information Technology Center, NAST, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NAS IT etc.

The award also consists of Nepal Pay as a digital payment partner, Hamro Pay as a voting partner, Lord Buddha Education Foundation as an education partner, Broadway Infosys as a training partner, BugV as a cyber security partner, Global College as a knowledge partner, Veda as an Edtech partner, Kantipur TV as a broadcasting partner, and Dishhome Fibernet as Internet Partner.
